Valentines at Home
Valentines at Home
Valentine's Day is just around the corner - are you struggling to decide what to do to celebrate? This year is strange for us all, our first (and fingers crossed our last) Valentine's Day in lockdown, so we have to come up with new and exciting ways to spoil our True Loves on February 14th. We share some of our favourite ideas of how to celebrate the most romantic day of the year without even needing to leave your own home!
Breakfast in bed
Who doesn’t love a surprise breakfast in bed? Get all the essentials you need for a breakfast tray full of love – chocolate croissants from the local bakery, lush strawberries, freshly squeezed orange juice, hot pot of coffee for 2 and why not add a single red rose to the tray for the romantic finishing touch?
Romantic flowers delivered to your door
Of course we may be biased, but we think beautiful fresh flowers are one of the best gifts to receive on February 14th. Order Valentine’s Day Flowers online from your local florist by 12pm on Friday 12th February for guaranteed local delivery - our dedicated team deliver within an 8 mile radius of our Kettering shop, so this includes Corby and central Market Harborough! Magnolia the Florist also offer a fabulous Nationwide Flower delivery service via courier if your True Love doesn’t live in our local delivery area.
Night under the star
We know its arctic feeling outside at the moment with most of the UK being covered in a blanket of crisp white snow. If the weather allows though, why not spend a romantic evening star gazing with your Significant Other? Dig out the camping chairs, light the outdoor firepit, wrap up in warm layers, make a flask of warm cocoa and sit back and enjoy an evening together under the stars. Maybe you spot a shooting star or two – don’t forget to make a wish!
Dinner in for 2
We can’t go out to enjoy a romantic dinner at our favourite restaurants at the moment, but many local places are offering fabulous dine at home menus and takeways throughout lockdown. So support your local shops and order a Dinner for 2 on Valentine’s weekend. Try The Palmichael located just down the road from us in Kettering for luxurious Italian treats from their Valentine Amore Box or order your fave Italian food for takeaway.
Mix it Cocktails
If you are missing your local pub or cocktail club, you can recreate your favourite tipples at home. Get online and order home cocktail making kits, sign up for virtual wine tasting session with your local winery or check out your favourite breweries with craft beers for delivery. Lockdown is a great excuse to not have to leave the comfort and warmth of your own home or to have a designated driver! We always love local Warners Gin Distillery and they have some fabulous Valentine Gin Gifts available online to order this year.
Home pamper time
If you normally treat your other half to a Spa Day for Valentine’s, why not recreate it at home to enjoy together instead? Pop open a bottle of bubbles, play some tranquil tunes, light a scented candle or 2 and have a selection of pamper goodies ready such as facemasks (don’t forget the cucumber slices for the eyes!).
