Happy Halloween 2020
Happy Halloween 2020
I am just a big kid at heart really, with October being one of my favourite months because of Halloween! A chance to have some spook-tacular fun dressing up, playing games and getting creative for decorating. This year due to COVID-19 restrictions things are a different for us all, but never fear – we have some great ideas for celebrating Halloween safely at home and pick of the best events going on in Kettering .
Virtual Trick or Treating
Growing up Trick or Treating was always one of my favourite things to do on October 31st, so this year make it virtual! Let the children get creative with home-made Halloween costumes - grab old sheets and towels, cardboard or paper mâché, toilet paper rolls, felt tips and some ketchup. Then enjoy taking them virtually Trick or Treating from the comfort of your warm, cosy sofa using the wonderfully technology of Zoom, Skype or Facetime.
Fang-tastic fun at the Farm
West Lodge Farm Park is just a 15 minute drive from central Kettering, and this year they will be hosting a Halloween Spooktacular and Pumpkin Patch Experience. Running from 17th October until 1st November, bring your little monsters along to enjoy pumpkin carving, ghoulish ghost stories, barrel rides and much more! The Halloween event has been carefully set up to allow for with social distancing and ticketed time slots – booking online in advance is essential.
Boo-tiful Baking
Great British Bake Off eat your heart out – we have some star bakers in the house! Grab your cooking aprons and whisk, we are going to bake some Halloween inspired cupcakes! I love the BBC good recipes as they are easy to follow and use everyday ingredients easy to get hold of at the local shops. Have fun baking at home with the kids, and decorating the cupcakes in Halloween styles – think strawberry laces, smarties, googly ediable eyes, haribo ….
Vampire Dinner
Calling all Miss Marples and Sherlock Holmes, dig out your garlic - Kettering Park Hotel & Spa is hosting a Murder Mystery dinner for adults this year, Beware The Vampire is the theme. Dine a yummy three-course meal and put your detective skills to the test to solve the murder on Saturday 31st October. Tickets are £42.00 per person.
Mummy Races
There are tons of Halloween inspired games to play at home with the family, including Pumpkin Bowling, Pin the Spider in the Web and Apple Bobbing. And we love the good old classic – Mummy Races! Simply split into 2 teams, wrap one of our teammates up in toilet paper and race to the finish line to be declared The Mummy Winner. This game is also great fun to do over Zoom if you want to get
